OTHELLO — Fireworks are to blame for a Sunday afternoon fire in Othello.
Law enforcement and Adams County Fire District #5 personnel received a call to an address on N. Shelly Ave. at approximately 3:10 p.m. According to radio traffic, when they arrived, they found that a firework had exploded inside a child’s bedroom, setting a mattress on fire. The home’s occupants apparently threw the burning mattress out of a window and extinguished it.
No injuries were reported.
