Moses Lake man convicted of internet crimes against children

EPHRATA — Michael Boyer, 69, was convicted last week of four counts in the first-degree possession of depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. The verdict was passed in Grant County Superior Court.

According to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, “Boyer was arrested in Mar., 2024 after Grant County and Moses Lake Police detectives received a case referral from the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force in Seattle. The tip came from Google, and identified the suspect as Boyer, along with Boyer’s birthdate, phone number, and two email addresses.”

Upon investigation it was determined that one of the IP addresses associated with Boyer had uploaded over 100 video files that contained sexual abuse content.

Boyer is detained in the Grant County jail pending sentencing in October.
