OTHELLO – Othello School District is seeking a new Assistant Superintendent pending the resignation of Jessica Schenck, Superintendent Dr. Pete Perez announced at a March 25th board meeting. 

Schenck has been tentatively offered a new position as Superintendent in the Mount Baker School District. According to Perez in an email response, she has not announced her resignation from Othello yet as contract negotiations are ongoing between her and Mount Baker.

Schenck’s husband, former Othello Police Chief, Phil Schenck, has announced his resignation from his position as a business education teacher at Othello High School, presumably pending the family’s move. 

Schenck was promoted to her current position in 2022 after serving as Principal at McFarland Middle School from 2019 through the 2022 school year. She also served as Othello’s Director of STEAM education from 2017 to 2019.
