MOSES LAKE – With news that the search is on for two adult suspects in last week’s fatal Moses Lake shooting, the Marshals Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force (PNVOTF) has joined the manhunt, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Eastern Washington District. A $10,000 ($5,000 per fugitive) reward is being offered for information leading directly to their arrests. The Marshals Service warns that the suspects should be considered “armed and dangerous.”

According to the release, the Marshals “are working closely with the Moses Lake Police Department, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Washington State Department of Corrections, U.S. Border Patrol, and the FBI to locate and apprehend two fugitives.”

A major break in the case came when a 14-year-old Mattawa teen was arrested at a hospital in Richland on March 24. The teen was seeking treatment for an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound to the leg, which is believed to have happened during the Friday night incident. Four others, three minors and one adult, were also critically injured in the shooting. The arrest apparently came at the request of U.S. Marshals according to the release.

Arrest warrants for the two adult suspects were issued on March 25th. They are sought on charges of first-degree murder, five counts of assault in the first degree, drive-by shooting, and felon in possession of a firearm.

Earlier updates from Moses Lake Police Department indicated that none of the shooting victims had any known gang affiliations. It is not yet known if any of the suspects are gang affiliated.

The Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force is a U.S. Marshals-led partnership comprising federal, state, and local law enforcement officers from Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. The task force’s primary mission is to locate, arrest and return to the justice system the most violent and egregious federal and state fugitives.
