RITZVILLE – Adams County Sheriff’s deputies were involved in two high speed vehicle chases on Thursday, resulting in four arrests.
The first started when Ritzville police attempted to initiate a traffic stop of a vehicle occupied by Chad Michael Pichett (DOB: 08/08/1991), the driver, passenger Boone Tyler Holm (DOB: 07/13/1995).
ACSO joined the chase after the vehicle left Ritzville city limits. The pursuit ended west of Lind on Lind-Warden road. Pichett fled on foot while Boone surrendered immediately. Deputies pursued Pichett, who surrendered shortly thereafter.
Pichett was booked for charges including: Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, Driving While License Suspended in the 3rd Degree, Violating a No-Contact Order, Aiming or Discharging Firearms/Dangerous Weapons, Reckless Endangerment, and multiple warrants.
Boone was booked pending charges for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle and a DOC felony warrant.
The second chase came later in the evening. Washington State Patrol contacted ASCO around 7:47 p.m. seeking assistance on southbound 395 at milepost 94. According to a press release, the stopped vehicle had been traveling on Interstate 90 earlier with occupants throwing objects at other vehicles.
The black 2008 Mazda fled from WSP, resulting in an approximately 13-mile chase that ended on state route 21. Once stopped, the driver, 35-year-old Alex Rivera Jr. of Spokane, exited the vehicle and was arrested. The passenger, 33-year-old Daniel Rivera of Sunnyside, moved to the driver’s seat and drove off, resulting in a short pursuit.
Alex Rivera Jr. was booked into jail on charges of Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle, Driving While License Suspended (3rd Degree), and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without an Interlock Device.
Daniel Rivera was booked into jail on charges of Attempting to Elude a Police Vehicle and Driving While License Suspended (3rd Degree).
