OTHELLO -A rollover accident in Othello sent one to hospital with minor injuries on Tuesday, April 29. Othello Police and Othello EMS were called to the scene at approximately 2:20 p.m. And discovered a silver sedan resting on its roof with one occupant still inside and a black BMW with significant damage.
Walter Alcantara-M of Othello was cited for failure to yield the right of way. His 2010 BMW 328 struck a 2017 Honda Accord driven by Luis Orozco, also of Othello. Officers used footage from a nearby home security camera to determine that the BMW, traveling east on Mt. Adams, struck the Accord which was traveling north, on the right rear wheel. The accord spun and flipped, landing on its roof. Orozco was transported to Othello Community Hospital with minor injuries.
Orozco’s vehicle contained a number of rifles and firearms, which scattered when the car overturned. Officers collected the weapons and verified that none were stolen. Orozco was able to recover the firearms when he was released from the hospital.
