WENATCHEE – Wenatchee police say that three young sisters who were abducted by their father have been found dead at a campground near Leavenworth. The three girls, ages 9, 8, and 5, were reported missing on May 30th by their mother. The girls’ father, 32-year-old Travis Decker of Wenatchee, did not return the girls as expected after a planned visitation.
Wenatchee police immediately began a search for Decker, who was believed to be homeless and living in his truck at campgrounds, or at motels. Using Flock cameras, police were able to determine that his truck had traveled westbound on U. S. Highway 2. A warrant for Decker’s arrest was issued on June 2 for custodial interference.
Decker’s unoccupied vehicle was located at the Rock Island Campground near Leavenworth on June 2. Law enforcement conducted a search of the area and located the bodies of the three girls. Decker was not found.
Decker is currently wanted for three counts of first-degree murder, three counts of kidnapping. He is former military with extensive training. Any member of the public who has information about the whereabouts of Travis Decker is requested to dial 911. It is not known if he is currently armed.
