OTHELLO – Construction of the first of two roundabouts at major Othello-are intersections is set to begin on August. 4. WSDOT crews have placed construction zone signage along State Route 26 this week. Work is expected to start on a roundabout at the intersection of Highway 26 and S. First Ave. on August 4.
A press release from WSDOT says that the SR 26 roundabout will increase safety for drivers and reduce traffic, especially truck traffic, on First Ave. and Broadway. Those streets are currently used as an interchange of sorts between highways 26 and 24.

Drivers should expect delays on both Highway 26 and First Ave. during construction, which will be completed by mid-October. Work will happen between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., but temporary
signals through the construction area will be in operation around the clock.
A second roundabout, at the intersection of Cunningham Rd. and Highway 17 is set for construction in 2026.
