OTHELLO – Now that construction has begun on the first of two state highway roundabouts in the Othello area, locals and visitors can expect delays and detours.

Highway 26 is reduced to one lane through the construction zone as a new roundabout is built at the intersection with First Ave. Temporary traffic signals control the flow of traffic through the lane reduction. A 35-mph speed limit is also in effect. The highway cannot be accessed from either Main St. or Highway 24, detour routes are signed throughout town.

Highway 26 can still be accessed via 14th Ave/Reynolds Rd. and S. Taylor Rd. Traffic from Highway 24 can access highway 26 via detours along Bench Rd.
