MESA – An early morning accident on Highway 17 in Mesa sent one man to the hospital, and kicked off a search for another who fled the scene. The incident occurred at approximately 6:42 a.m. A 2001 Saturn SL2 driven by Jesse Flores, 29, of Pasco was traveling northbound. Flores’ vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2012 driven by Adrian Mora, age 22, also of Othello.

Flores fled the scene on foot, but was quickly apprehended by Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies. He was not injured but was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Mora was injured and transported to Kadlec in Richland.
