CHELAN – The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that DNA found at the scene of the murder of three young girls belongs only to their father, Travis Decker, and the girls themselves.
The bodies of Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia Decker were located on July 2, 2025 at the Rock Island Campground. They had been suffocated using plastic bags and cable ties. A bloody handprint was also left on Travis Decker’s truck, which was left at the scene. Decker was not and has not been located.
According to a press release, “on August 6, 2025, the Washington State Crime Lab reported DNA profiles matching Travis Decker were found on the plastic bags that were covering each of his daughter’s heads. DNA profiles matching Paityn, Evelyn and Olivia Decker were also located on the plastic bags. No other DNA profiles were obtained from the plastic bags. One DNA profile was obtained from the cable ties collected at the scene. That DNA sample matched the profile for Travis Decker. No other DNA profiles were obtained from the cable ties.”
The evidence further confirms that Decker is the only suspect in his daughter’s murder.
The search for Decker is ongoing. The sheriff’s office stated that they do not have any evidence so far that confirms whether Decker is alive or dead. They are continuing to work with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to Decker’s arrest. He should be considered armed and dangerous. Those with information are encouraged to call 911 and to not attempt to approach or confront him.
