MESA — Lightning sparked a fast-moving fire south of Cox Pond near Mesa on Sunday night.
According to Franklin County Fire District 1, the fire burned in rough terrain, making work difficult. Three engines were damaged while fighting the blaze. They will be out of service until repairs can be made. Franklin County Fire District 4 provided assistance as well.
A release from the fire district says that crews will monitor the blaze for flair ups on Monday. They ask people to call 911 immediately if they see smoke.
