EPHRATA — A Grant County corrections deputy has been arrested on suspicion of domestic violence, according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).

Soap Lake police arrested Nickolas Eifert, and that agency is leading the investigation. “Because this incident involves a Grant County Sheriff’s Office employee, we are not involved in the police investigation,” the GCSO release said.

Eifert is on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation in Soap Lake. Once the Soap Lake investigation is complete, the GCSO will conduct a third-party review to determine whether Eifert violated any agency policies.

“We understand the gravity of domestic violence and recognize the importance of believing and protecting victims—especially when law enforcement is involved. The Grant County Sheriff’s Office is working to ensure that justice, safety, and transparency are maintained throughout this process,” said the GCSO release.

Soap Lake police have not released any details of the arrest.
