ROYAL CITY — A 55-year-old Royal City man was airlifted to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland following an accident on Thursday morning. The collision occurred at approximately 8:53 a.m. about 7 miles east of Royal City on State Route 262.
Michael Richards, 55, of Othello was driving eastbound on SR-262 when his 2018 Ram pickup collided with the back of a tractor driven by Hugo Verduzco. The tractor overturned, ejecting Verduzco. Both vehicles came to rest fully blocking the highway.
Richards was cited for negligent driving-second degree (distracted driving). There is no information about the current condition of Verdusco.
