MOSES LAKE, Wash — A Moses Lake man was arrested after a search warrant led to the discovery of unlawfully possessed firearms and drugs. Donte Scott, 36, of Moses Lake. The Moses Lake Police Department Street Crimes unit says Scott “had, on multiple occasions recently, attempted to purchase a firearm despite being ineligible to possess firearms.” Upon investigation, they discovered Scott was in possession of a shotgun.

While executing the search warrant, detectives discovered three additional unlawfully possessed handguns. They also found “4 ounces of psilocybin mushrooms, assorted marijuana products, packaging material, scales, and cash,” according to an MLPD release. Possession of marijuana is legal in Washington state. However, the amount in Scott’s possession apparently exceeded the legal limits. Scales and packaging materials found in his home also showed intent to distribute.

“Scott was booked into the Grant County Jail on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver,” according to MLPD.
